Cloud 9

If this was cloud 9, then you would definitely find me there. I had an AMAZING opportunity last week, which has gotten me pretty pumped! I met with the fabulous Leah Charbonneau for lunch and an info session. We discussed our photography philosophies, equipment and resources, and that led to her exciting offer - she's letting me tag-along with her on her next wedding as an assistant/second shooter!!! When she offered, I think my eyes probably looked like they were about to pop out of my head and I'm pretty sure my jaw hit the table at the Village Deli in Cameron Village - thankfully I didn't have any food in my mouth. The fact that she's letting me learn the ropes under her tutelage is kind of a dream come true. This is my first wedding as a photographer/non guest, so I feel a lot of anxiety, but good anxiety... the kind you get when you're a child on Christmas morning and you don't know what awaits you, but you know it's going to be good.

Since I am so brand new to this, I'm basically going to stick to her side, hold equipment for her and just study her and her craft. When there's some downtime she mentioned I can do some test shots and even try using her Canon 5d - my dream camera... sigh* I have so much to learn, but I feel like a sponge and just want to soak up everything I can.

I can't wait to see what the weekend brings!
