Hilton Head Island

A visit with Phillip's family, Harvey's first sight of the ocean, the shade of live oaks with Spanish moss and a sea breeze to cool us down. This is what weekends are made for.

Wedding Photographic Society Q2 Image Contest...woo hoo!

Tuesday was a tough day. Nothing traumatizing in particular, just one of those days when you're really glad the work day is over. I was feeling tired/stressed/overwhelmed and was ready to crawl into bed, but I knew I would regret missing the monthly WPS meeting. I needed a pick-me-up and boy did I get one. Not only did I get to catch up with my photog friends, I found out that I placed in the quarterly image contest and in 2 categories!!! What!? I know, I was stunned too. The image above placed 3rd in the artistic category and the image below placed 5th in the photojournalism category. Yay!

You can view all the AMAZING winners here.

Andrew + Suzann: 2nd Shooting, Chapel Hill Wedding

The photography community in the Triangle is pretty amazing. We look out for each other, whether it be referrals, tips and tricks, helping each other out in a pinch, or even setting up a dinner and a movie to take break from editing & emails - it's there for you when you need it and enables you to give back as well. I was fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of a second shooting opportunity and I am so thankful for it for a multitude of reasons. The referral took a very circuitous route to me, but the fact that it led to me when others' schedules didn't pan, was awesome and very lucky for me, so a big thanks to Kate (love her). The next big thanks goes to the primary shooter, Mark Schueler, not only was he great work with, but his preparedness and made me feel just as prepared for the day, which is huge. Also, his clients were AWESOME. They were so laid back and set a great tone for their day, which was pretty much perfect and just as unique and beautiful as they are inside and out.
