A New Year, A New Chapter

Happy (belated) New Year Y'all! Surprised to see me? I know, I know... I've been a bad blogger. I committed the numero uno sin in the blogging that I promised I'd never commit... I went a month (eek, a month? really?) without blogging. And it's not that there hasn't been anything to blog, in fact, it was kind of the opposite, but I got caught up in hoopla of the holidays. There was an unexpected, but greatly appreciated holiday mini session series, and then it was shopping for Christmas presents, attending Christmas parties, baking Christmas cookies for cookie exchanges, eating cookies, traveling, spending time with my loved ones, and I fell off the blogging wagon.... hard. Ouch. But don't fret my pretties, I'm back and ready to blog it out.

And since it's the New Year and time for a fresh start, I have some exciting news to share! My little ol' logo got a makeover, and even better than that, I got a whole new brand! Now, if you were like me and wondering, logo.. brand... uh, isn't that the same thing? Well, no my dears, after months of extensive internal reflection, google searching, and A LOT of help from the lovely ladies at The Thoughtful Type who designed it, I've learned that while your logo is what folks initially see, your brand is how they remember you as a whole and perceive your image. And that's your fun fact for the day.

With my new "image" comes a new blogsite, but it's not ready just yet. Bummer. However, I just couldn't wait any longer to show you the new and improved Laura Simson Photography, so without further ado... (drumroll please)

TADA!
But wait, there's more! With the new brand, comes new and much prettier packaging. Yay!

I owe a HUGE GINORMOUS thank you to The Thoughtful Type. They were super easy to work with and "got me" right away. If your logo/brand needs a "pick-me-up," go to them. They rock.

Well, that's it for this post, but don't worry, there will be others, AND they'll be posted this week! Promise.

  2. Yes your brand is what matters the most! I have even started teaching high school students about their brand they are already creating on FB or anywhere online without realizing it. Great job Laura. I like the logo!
