Jordan

At the tender age of four, Miss Jordan has got a lock on cuteness, but that sweet smile can turn into the most serious of thinkers expression in an instant. And even though she sometimes gets a case of the sillies, she definitely has a flair for the dramatic and was a fantastic model.

This is the face of a lady that really wants an orange juice...

mission accomplished!

Thank you for a gorgeous morning shoot Jordan!

The Urban Bride . Bridal Portrait Shoot . Downtown Raleigh

I have been wanting to share the photos from this shoot for months, but obviously needed to wait until after the wedding, and finally the day has come! It's almost hard to remember the frigid temperatures of January and how thankful we were to have a sunny day in the upper 40s now that we're regularly seeing temps in the 60s and 70s. Jennifer was a rock star though and luckily had an heirloom fur to throw on in between shots, which actually turned out to be a perfect accent piece for the shoot.

Congrats Jennifer! Have a wonderful honeymoon!

A Christmas Tradition

I love homes decked out in lights for the holidays - the tackier the better. So every year, Phillip and I and our good friends Thomas and Katie, bundle up, grab some hot chocolate and scour Raleigh's neighborhoods for the best and brightest lights.

And this year did not disappoint. We started out on Downtown on Fayetteville Street to get in the holiday spirit and then began the hunt.

North Carolina Run/Walk for Autism

The Autism Society of North Carolina is a great group of people with an important mission, so when word spread that they needed volunteers to photograph their 5k event in Raleigh, I was excited. I'm used to being on the other side of the event as the planner, so it was fun to see it come together as a participant and I had a great time capturing the end result. There were tons of teams there in support of loved ones with autism, as well as competitive runners (man! they were fast), and lots-n-lots of volunteers there to make day run smoothly. It went off without a hitch, so I just meandered throughout the crowd watching the fun unfold.

For more information on how you can participate in future NC Autism 5k races or if you'd like to know more about the organization, click here!

On your mark. Get set. Go!

And they're off!

And the winner is...
 A 5k in 16 min and 32 sec?!! Whoa.

After the race was run and the refreshments were passed around, the fun began.

Massage after a race? GREAT idea. This guy agrees, I'm sure.

She's small, but mighty.

What a great day. Can't wait for next year!
